I was a chef for 11 years, and now am challenged to find work in a new sector of creative media. My ideals of what I had envisioned for myself have shifted dramatically.
I am now a Student at Massey University, with the goal to gain a Bachelor of creative media production. I am in my second year now and the idea of finding work somewhere in the world is scary.
I am currently unsure where I would be able to fit, as I have wide range of ideas and would love to learn many different skills that range from DOP (Director of photography), writing, concept design, visual effects, 3D modeling and editing.
On the 18th of march I wondered into what I thought was a themed bar. It was the Fear Factory in Wellington. I started to talk to the owner about the place and found out that he was once a student who learned VFX and 3D modeling. He pointed to a television that was displaying an animated 3D model corridor. It seemed we shared the same likeness to VFX and animation.
He then offered me some experience, he said if i had any spare time I could come back, where he might of had some possible part time work for me.
