ABOUT ME
My Journey Into The Creative Sector
Growing up on a farm I always had a huge imagination. I knew I wanted to create and develop amazing and thought provoking media.
My mind was always brimming with unimaginable ideas. I would make short films with my younger brother, being inspired by Peter Jackson. These short films would consist of goofy and creative ideas. I would be behind the camera and my brother would be playing the many characters.
As I grew older I came up with ideas that became concepts that I still carry around with me to this day.
I started writing stories with the intention to develop a book series that would span over many characters over a long period of time. But first I wanted to see these stories with my own eye's because I love visual story telling.
I would share (and still do) my ideas with friends and family, asking for constructive criticism. I am always ready to learn more, on my journey to perfect my work.
Later in life I become interested in creating music, so I downloaded software to be able to create musical scores and ambiance. My interests grew and grew as a began to dabble in a wide range of media forms.
I moved from my small town of Timaru and am now in my third year at Massey University in Wellington. Massey was my first choice because it was in Wellington, and close to Weta Workshop.
The production of New Zealand media and the Kiwi's that made it possible, inspired me as a young man, and made me feel lucky for living in a country that was creating forms of media that I am interested in.
I have hopes to find a spot for myself in a team (large or small), so I can share my unique vision. I will always be interested in the development of media be it strange and fantastic.
